If you have experienced equipment failure this winter you most likely had someone talk to you about your dirty filters. And more than likely this was probably the cause of some of the problems!
The fact is that air filters do more than just keep your air clean. They also allow the equipment to run at peak performance and peak efficiency by keeping the components inside your heater clean and operational. When the air filter becomes dirty and air is restricted, the fan motor begins working harder and then the heat exchanger has a difficult time staying the proper temperature.
Make sure you are changing your air filters on some consistent basis- no less than twice a year!
